At 62, it was music to her ears to hear her doctor say she was increasing muscle mass year over year and has the bones of premenopausal women. Christy is a pediatric occupational therapist and has always been active. She loves sailing with her husband and playing with her three dogs. But she knew she needed more than just activity to age gracefully. Christy discovered Next Age Fitness because the place she had been doing Callanethics (find a link) closed and three years later she still hadn’t found a replacement exercise she could stick with though she tried several other types. Being open-minded, she was intrigued when her Chiropractor (link to Dr James) suggested trying the 20 minute workout. She had plenty of experience with exercising regularly; twice a week with core body, free weights and working out to music so she wasn’t skeptical of the concept of short, intense and infrequent. Upon discovering strength training using ARX technology, she had no illusions about becoming 30 again. As a young baby boomer, she wanted quality of life as she aged. Christy recently completed her 145th workout and will continue with the program because of results (like the music her doctor gave her on muscle mass and bone health) and her ability to do not-so-daily activity (like mowing her large lawn) as if she were 20 years younger. And the low commitment (20 minutes a week) works well in her busy life. |
